Protection
The Threshold Sealing Ceremony
A formal warding of every entrance to your home, using salt, oil, and spoken words of power.
What You Will Need
Salt
The primary sealing substance. Sprinkled at every threshold to create a barrier that negative energy cannot cross. Table salt or sea salt works.
Olive oil or cooking oil
Used to anoint door frames and window frames, sealing them with a protective blessing. Any cooking oil you have is sufficient.
White candle
Carried from threshold to threshold, providing a moving source of protective light. A tea light in a holder or a taper candle works.
Small bowl of water with a pinch of salt
Blessed water used to sprinkle at thresholds. Tap water with a pinch of salt added is all you need.
Cloth or cotton ball
For applying the oil to door frames and window sills. A cotton ball, small rag, or folded paper towel works.
Moon Phase & Timing
Threshold sealing creates physical and energetic barriers at every entry point to your home.
Full Moon: Seal your thresholds during the full moon for maximum barrier strength. The moon's fullness fills every crack and gap with protective light.
Waning Moon: Sealing during the waning moon helps push existing negative energy out of your home while locking the doors behind it.
