The Nine-Knot Binding

A cord-based binding spell that locks protective energy into nine knots, each with a specific purpose.
Level Beginner
Time 20-25 minutes
Moon Full Moon or Waning Moon
What You Will Need
Cord or string, about 18 inches long
The physical medium for the binding knots. Kitchen twine, yarn, a shoelace, or any cord you can tie knots in works well. Black or dark-colored cord is traditional but not required.
Piece of paper and pen
For writing the name of the person whose harmful actions you are binding. Any paper and writing tool will do.
Small pouch or envelope
To store the knotted cord after the ritual. A small zip-lock bag, envelope, or even a sock works as a container.
Moon Phase & Timing
Knot binding spells draw on the deliberate, focused energy of tying and holding, amplified by lunar phases.
Full Moon: Bind during the full moon for the most powerful restraint. The full moon's gravity pulls and holds, mirroring the binding action of your knots.
Waning Moon: The waning moon supports diminishing the bound person's ability to cause harm, weakening their negative influence with each passing night.
