The Nazar Deflection Charm

A charm against the evil eye, using traditional protective symbolism and personal consecration.
Level Beginner
Time 20-30 minutes
Moon Full Moon or Waning Moon
What You Will Need
Blue bead, button, or small blue stone
Blue is the traditional color for deflecting the evil eye. A blue button from a sewing kit, a blue marble, or any small blue object will serve.
String or cord, about 12 inches
Used to make the charm wearable or hangable. Kitchen twine, embroidery thread, or a shoelace works perfectly.
Small dish of salt
Purifies the charm materials before consecration. Any table salt or sea salt is fine.
White candle
Provides focused light and intention during the consecration. A tea light or birthday candle is sufficient.
Moon Phase & Timing
The Nazar charm draws its power from focused intention and is best created under specific moon phases.
Full Moon: Create your Nazar charm under the full moon for the strongest deflection. The full moon's complete illumination leaves no shadows for the evil eye to hide in.
Waning Moon: Crafting during the waning moon imbues the charm with banishing energy, actively pushing away envious or harmful gazes.
