A small offering of food or drink
Something your ancestor loved, or bread and water if you are unsure.
A pendulum or a needle on thread
For receiving yes/no answers if free-writing does not come easily.
A pen and journal
For free-writing messages and recording the session.
A pinch of salt
To place at the threshold of the room for protection during the working.
Moon Phase & Timing
Ancestral communication works best when the boundary between the living and the remembered is thinnest. The moon governs that boundary.
Dark Moon: The veil is thinnest. Communication is most likely to flow clearly and strongly.
Full Moon: The brightness illuminates what is usually hidden, making it easier to sense subtle presences.
Waning Moon: Good for communicating about matters of the past or asking for help releasing old patterns.
