Rite of the Dying Ember

A ritual for honoring a relationship that has ended, releasing its energy with grace and closure.
Level Intermediate
Time 20-30 minutes
Moon Full Moon or Waxing Moon
What You Will Need
A candle in a color that reminds you of the relationship
Any color that feels right; there is no wrong choice here as this is personal
A piece of paper and pen
For writing what you are releasing; any paper you have
A fireproof bowl or dish
For safely burning the paper; a ceramic bowl or metal pan works well
Dried sage or rosemary
Purifying herbs for cleansing the space after release; kitchen herbs work perfectly
A small cup of water
Represents emotional cleansing and the dousing of the final ember; plain water is fine
Moon Phase & Timing
Release rituals draw power from the moon's waning or full illumination.
Full Moon: Illuminates the truth of the ending so you can see it clearly and let go.
Waning Moon: Naturally supports diminishing and releasing. If possible, perform this during a waning moon for added ease.
The Ritual

5 steps, with the words to speak at each one.

You have the materials and the timing. The ritual itself — every step, every incantation, and how to shape the spell to your own intention — lives inside the Grimoire, alongside 191 others.
